Vins de Relat is a project for producing wines, in various parts of Catalonia, from the traditional varieties of these territories. Fresh and contemporary wines; a style conveyed through the narrative of each one of them, and in their design.

TERRA ALTA

Located in southern Catalonia, between the river Ebro and the border with Aragón. Terra Alta is home to the largest surface area of Grenache in the world. It’s where this variety expresses itself best, thanks to its climate (abundant sunshine, temperatures that are very low in winter and extremely high in summer, low rainfall) and soil (low in organic matter and rich in calcareous rock).
Alongside the climate, the two prevailing winds, the Cierzo and the Garbinada, affect the area’s character. You’ll find typical Mediterranean cultivation in the region: vineyards, almond trees and olive trees.

EMPORDÀ

In the far north-east of Catalonia lies the Alt Empordà, a region with great scenic and cultural wealth. It’s bordered by the Pyrenees to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the east and plains to the south.
The area’s viticulture and climate (mild winters and hot summers tempered by sea breezes) are impacted by the strong Tramontana wind. It contributes to the good health of the vineyards and is also the Empordà climate’s most characteristic feature.

PENEDÈS

The Penedès D.O. spans a large strip of land between the sea and the mountains, halfway between Barcelona and Tarragona. Mountains including the Coastal, Pre-Coastal and Montserrat ranges and structural depressions such as the Penedès, Canyelles and Foix basins provide highly diverse soils.
Penedès is a region of contrasts, with the sea, vineyards and mountains as highlights. The effects of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea make Penedès a stand-out area for growing vines. In general, the climate is typically Mediterranean (mild and warm), with clayey-limestone terrain.

The climate is generally Mediterranean, with generous sunshine, dry and mild winters and moderately hot summers. The soils are mostly calcareous and low in organic matter.

CONCA DE BARBERÀ

Conca de Barberà is located in southern Catalonia, between the provinces of Tarragona and Lleida. The climate is generally Mediterranean, featuring the mildness of Tarragona’s coastal regions, which are influenced by their proximity to the sea, and the continental characteristics of Lleida's regions. In the central area the soils are generally calcareous or clayey, with slate in the west. The area’s native variety is Trepat, which is used to make light, fruity and fresh wines.
